Have a Great Year, SAA!

As written on our homepage, “We love the mission of Christian education. We love administrators, teachers, and volunteers who show excellence, humility, and invest true Christ-like unselfish love into our children. Through its staff, students, and families, Spencerville Adventist Academy has provided educational opportunity for thousands over several decades, helped them reach numerous wonderful achievements, and formed the center of a special community that has been a blessing to numerous people.”

It is love for our children and their hard-working and dedicated teachers that drives Eyes On SAA to shine light, break silence, and hold SAA accountable. Yes love and accountability can exist together, indeed they must exist together for SAA to be the very best that it can for every student, parent, teacher, administrator, and constituent; in this way SAA will bring glory to God and be a genuine witness for Him in this community.

Shining light, breaking silence and holding SAA accountable – all of which are desperately needed at 2502 Spencerville Road – are our contributions to help SAA live out the full and true meaning of its motto: "Love to Learn. Live to Serve. All for Christ."

If you do not see the need for a forum like this, then you really should read all the posts on this blog. If you are purposefully ignoring or fighting against this forum, then respectfully, you may very well be part of the problem of apathy and the struggle to maintain the status quo. You may or may not like or appreciate how we do our job - that is fair enough. But then please submit your comment to let us know what you are doing to bring about change. If you are a supporter of this blog, then please share it with your peers and on social media. We know that the SAA administration has been paying attention to this blog, even though they will not openly acknowledge it. Whatever you may think of Eyes On SAA, you should count on our determination to continue until that blessed day when our forum is no longer necessary because SAA has been transformed into an institution with a culture of transparency, honesty, and accountability. This most definitely did not happen in 2020-2021. By God’s mighty hand, let it happen in 2021-2022.

SAA’s success brings blessings to our children and community. SAA’s disgraces and failures (like so many moments in 2020-21) will result in damage to everyone that cares about this special place. So from the bottom of our hearts, as so many people (including some of our supporters) are gathered around SAA’s flagpole at this very moment (Monday, August 16, 2021, at 8:45 a.m., EST), we earnestly pray for the greatest success, happiness, and blessings for this new school year upon every administrator, teacher, staff member, Secret School Board member, and volunteer – but above all upon our children, the students of SAA, and their loving and dedicated parents and families.

Have a Great Year SAA!

- Lillian Hepburn-Richmond (a cohort of concerned parents)
