Eyes On SAA

Shining Light. Breaking Silence. Holding Accountable.

We love the mission of Christian education.  We love administrators,  teachers, and volunteers who show excellence, humility, and invest true Christ-like unselfish love into our children.  Through its staff, students, and families, Spencerville Adventist Academy has provided educational opportunity for thousands over several decades, helped them reach numerous wonderful achievements, and formed the center of a special community that has been a blessing to numerous people.

Yet along the way, SAA has compromised its mission and failed to live up to its full potential.  The concentration of power in the hands of the same few influential persons for years on end, but without an adequate constituent oversight model has led to the undemocratic disenfranchisement of stakeholders, excesses and abuses of power, and the hierarchical trafficking in silence and hubris at the expense of staff, students, and parents.

SAA desperately needs some form of effective Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) to address important concerns and to have a seat at the table on the School Board.  Until that actually happens, "Eyes On SAA" will be here  as an open forum for teachers, students, parents, and others to share your observations and concerns with your peers and fellow community members.  We only will take responsibility for our own posts and reports, not those of others.  Although we are committed to free, open, and responsible expression, we reserve the right to edit material that is abusive of this forum.  In the spirit of investigative journalism, our aim is to be a serious,  honest, and constructive check and balance on SAA's Administration and Board, as well as the Chesapeake Conference, to force them to act righteously and in the best interest of the children and their teachers.

This is our contribution to assist SAA to live out the full and true meaning of its motto:

"Love to Learn.  Live to Serve. All for Christ."
